The Community Foundation Awards $1.5 Million in Grants!

On Tuesday, January 10^th, the Community Foundation was filled to capacity with smiling faces as $1.5 million in grants was awarded to assist communities in Baldwin and Mobile Counties still struggling to recover from the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill.

 The grant money was awarded to nonprofits who deliver much needed support in areas such as: mental health, social services, financial stability, youth resiliency, and workforce development. Grant funding will permit growth of both services and capacity and allow these nonprofits to better meet the needs of the communities they serve.

The Community Foundation awarded grants to the following nonprofits: A Servant's Love, Inc., Ozanam Charitable Pharmacy, Inc., Baldwin Family Violence Shelter (The Lighthouse), Legacy 166, Inc., YWCA of Greater Mobile, Waterfront Rescue Mission, Inc., Mobile Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Program, Lifelines Counseling Services, Baldwin Housing Alliance, Inc., Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Mobile Housing Board, GRCMA Early Childhood Directions, and Boat People SOS, Inc.  Congratulations to all the grant recipients and the communities they serve.
